At Fabri-Equipment Corp., our story is one of family, perseverance, and passion for precision.

Our founder, Carlos A. Pinilla, got his start in the trades at just seven years old, helping out in his father’s automotive body shop. From an early age, Carlos was captivated by machinery—especially manual lathes. Whenever he ran errands for his father, he would take detours to local machine shops, watching skilled machinists at work with wide-eyed curiosity.

At 15, Carlos enrolled in his local Vocational School to study Diesel Mechanics. When that program was full, he pivoted to Maintenance Mechanics instead—an early sign of the adaptability that would define his career. Thanks to his outstanding performance, Carlos was later selected for the prestigious General Mechanics Technician program. Simultaneously, he earned his high school diploma, graduating with the third-highest score in the entire country.

After completing his studies, Carlos started his first small business and pursued further education in Machinery Design. His skills, drive, and commitment laid the foundation for what would eventually become Fabri-Equipment Corp.

Like many entrepreneurs, Carlos faced serious obstacles. Economic hardship in his home country led him to relocate his family to the United States in search of a better future. There, he worked two jobs to provide for his loved ones—never losing sight of his vision. In 2004, he took a leap of faith and reestablished his business in the U.S. While managing a full-time job as a Machine Shop Manager and Tool Designer, Carlos dedicated nights and weekends to serving his first clients—many of whom are still with us today.

What began as one man’s dream has grown into a family-run company built on trust, responsibility, and a strong work ethic. We continue to uphold the same values that shaped the business from day one: integrity, professionalism, and a deep respect for craftsmanship.
